One Health in Schools Program

Over the past few years, the Community Affairs Office at Amoud University has been implementing the One Health in Schools Program across Awdal Region. Teachers from primary, middle, and secondary schools received training on the connection between human, animal, and environmental health. The trained teachers then shared this knowledge with their students through interactive lessons, helping them understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between people, animals, and the environment. The program also included school visits and monitoring by experts to ensure the lessons were delivered effectively. Due to its positive impact, the program will continue to expand to more schools across the country.

In the legendary highlands of Iten, Kenya—famously known as the "Home of Champions"—runners from around the world come to chase greatness in the thin air and rugged hills. Among them, I met a remarkable group: Somali athletes with Olympic dreams in their eyes and discipline in their every stride. There was Abdillahi from Kenya, @abdullahimohamud10 Khalid from the U.S., @khalidow1 and Liban from Finland. @liibanhagiali They train with intensity, rising with the sun, chasing their goals through sweat, silence, and steady progress. These are more than runners—they are future Olympians.
